AMAZING!

Coming from a Barber/Cosmetologist this is the absolute BEST conditioner I have ever used!!!! Even better than the top of the line expensive salon products! It makes my hair soft, light, and tangle free. My scalp stays clean for a minimum of two days even in the summer! 100/10 could not recommend Thick Locks Conditioner enough!!

common questions

Everything about solid hair care

What's the difference between a shampoo bar and regular shampoo?

Most shampoo bars are either compressed liquid shampoo or cold-process soap — and soap bars are too alkaline for hair. Ours use a surfactant base actually formulated for hair, with tallow, butters, and conditioning agents built in. Same great lather as liquid, no plastic bottle, no water-padding the formula.

What makes your shampoo bars different from other brands?

Tallow. Most brands don't put it in a shampoo bar. We do — and it contributes slip, conditioning, and fatty acids that most surfactant bases are missing. Your scalp notices the difference.

Will a shampoo bar work on my hair type?

We carry three lines — Women's (all hair types, wide scent selection), Men's (formulated for men's hair, bold scents), and Essential Oils (synthetic-fragrance-free, good for sensitive scalps). If you have long or thick hair, pair with a conditioner bar for best results.

What's the transition period I keep hearing about?

Your hair may feel waxy or heavy for 1–2 weeks while it adjusts from silicone-coated shampoo to a clean formula. This is normal and temporary. An apple cider vinegar rinse — 1 tablespoon in a cup of water, poured over after washing — speeds things up if you're impatient.

Do the bars work on color-treated hair?

Yes. The formula is sulfate-free, which is the key thing for color safety. No SLS stripping your investment down the drain.

How do I store a shampoo bar so it lasts?

Keep it out of standing water. Store on a draining soap dish or on a shelf away from the shower stream. Between uses, dry it off with a cloth. A well-stored bar lasts 30–40 washes — significantly longer than a liquid bottle at the same price point.

Can I use the conditioner bar after any shampoo?

Any shampoo, not just ours. Apply to wet hair after washing, work through mid-lengths and ends, leave 30 seconds, rinse. It works as a standalone conditioner regardless of what you washed with.

What's the Ruff-Poo Bar?

A shampoo bar for dogs. Same philosophy — clean ingredients, no harsh detergents, great lather — formulated for a dog's skin pH. Your dog can't complain about the scent, but they'll look incredible.
